Greetings All,
I hope those of you who live in Tidewater got through the storm
with little or no damage. Many people didn't.
Thursday night I was in a position to see electrical transformers
blowing out all around the city. It was similar to watching the
bombing of Iraq.
Many people are still without power, and many neighborhoods are
still flooded. Below is a slideshow of how the storm affected
many neighborhoods in Tidewater,The Peninsula, and N.C.

Picassa Albums,Meeting Minutes, Willie DuBose Invite
Greetings class,
Everyone had a great time at the BTW68 NSU Homecoming Party. Many photos were taken
by many people.I have included some in our Picassa Web Album in the links column at the right. I have added new albums for easier photo locating.
Below are the minutes from the last class meeting at the Marriot, and an invitation from Willie DuBose.
DEAR CLASSMATES,
SEVERAL REQUEST HAVE BEEN MADE FOR INFORMATION ON CLASS ACTIVITIES. BELOW ARE THE MINUTES FROM OUR JULY MEETING. THE MOST RECENT MEETING WAS HELD OCTOBER 30, 2009 AND MINUTES FROM THAT MEETING WILL BE SUBMITTED SOON. PAPER COPIES ARE DISTRIBUTED AT THE MEETINGS,THEN, CORRECTIONS ARE MADE AND THE VOTE TO ACCEPT ARE DONE AT THAT TIME.

Hosted at the home of Sharon Wallace, the meeting was called to order by President Betty White. Margo Joyner preformed the invocation. Secretary Beverly Haynes read the minutes from the February 22, 2009 meeting. It was voted to accept the minutes as read.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Dues – Financial Secretary Sharon Wallace reminded all that $120.00 dues for the fiscal year, September 2008 – August 2009, is due.
2. Scholarship – At the request of Randolph Branch, a clarification was given on the plan to give a one time scholarship in the name of Howard Gerald. Ella Price made the recommendation that the scholarship be given to the junior varsity football team at B.T.W. She will bring in specifics on how to proceed with this plan.
3. Financial Report – Treasure Doreatha Joyner reported that as of June 3o, 2009, the class has $8057.00 in the savings account.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. NSU’s Homecoming – It was decided how the class would utilize the suite at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. Friday night, the class would have a meeting and personal social time. Saturday night, the class will have an open house social time.
2. 60th Birthday Celebration – Doreatha Joyner made a motion to proceed with plans and Denise Morgan seconded. The class voted and the motion carried. The social committee will begin planning.
3. Scheduled Meetings – The need for meetings to be more regularly scheduled was suggested by Denise Morgan. It was agreed upon that four meetings a year would be held…

It was also agreed upon that Saturday meetings are more convenient
than Sunday meetings, especially for those who live away.
Denise Morgan made a motion to accept the schedule and Connie
James seconded. The motion carried.
4. Hampton Jazz Festival – A suggestion was made that the class attend the festival together. More information on the price of a block of tickets needed to be researched. Sharon Wallace is to check with Rufus Jackson and his contact. Denise Morgan is to check with her contact. A report is to be given at the next meeting.
5. BTW “68 Banner – Dianne Bacon suggested that the class purchase a banner that we could display at our functions. She is to bring price information to our next meeting.
6. President Betty White adjourned the meeting.
